Non-Vibratory Drilling Techniques
We specialize in non-vibratory drilling equipment.
ROC has expertise in non-vibratory drilling techniques and equipment. Non-vibratory equipment, including casing oscillators, casing rotators & reverse circulation drills, do not rely on hammering or vibration and offer a number of important benefits.
Reduces Impact on Surrounding Areas
Non-vibratory techniques can reduce the impact on surrounding areas, which is important when:
Drilling in urban areas or near existing foundations and structures where vibrations can damage integrity of nearby structures
Example: Required to mitigate dust, vibration and sound impacts during airport construction
Constructing a replacement structure, in advance of demolition of existing structure, without impeding current usage
Example: bridge replacement, reducing the impact of construction on the traveling public.
Reduces Environmental Concerns
Additionally, using non-vibratory techniques can reduce or in some cases eliminate impacts on the surrounding environment which allows for drilling in sensitive areas.
When utilizing a wet/slurry construction method, water alone can be used preventing contamination of surrounding soil.
Cuttings can easily be controlled and excavated soil can easily be placed in a truck or retaining pond for disposal, making for a cleaner job site.
It has been studied that hammering and vibration create a sound in coastal conditions which hinders the sonar soundwaves used by marine animals to see and communicate. Oscillating eliminates this impact on marine life.
